For house party hosts: a guest list you trust, at your own home

By the Yano team · 12 October 2026 · 6 min read

Hosting strangers in your home needs two things a normal ticket page doesn’t give you: control over who comes, and privacy until they’re confirmed.

Keep your address private

Turn on “Keep the address private until someone books”. The public page shows only the area; the exact address and map pin appear only on confirmed passes. Private-address events are never listed on Yano’s Find page.

Approve the room

Turn on approval and ask for an Instagram handle. You approve the people you’re comfortable hosting; they then get a link to pay and their pass. Declined people never pay.

Money straight to your UPI

Guests pay your UPI ID; you check it arrived and send their pass. No company or gateway needed. Yano never holds your money.

A calm door

  • Give a friend the scanner link — each pass works once, so a forwarded screenshot shows as already used.
  • Someone turns up with cash? Add them as a walk-in from the scanner so your count stays right.
  • Your number is on every pass, so guests WhatsApp you, not the building guard.

Say the rules up front

Entry time, BYOB or not, house rules, refund rule. Two clear lines in the description prevent most problems.

Try it for your next gathering

Free to start. Guests pay you directly; Yano never holds your ticket money. Free events cost nothing.

Questions people ask

Can I keep the event off public listings completely?

Yes. Choose “Only people with my link”; private-address events are never listed anyway.

What if more people show up than booked?

The scanner only accepts real passes, once each. Walk-ins you allow can be added at the door.
