Selling event tickets from Instagram: bio link, stories and DMs
For most small organisers in India, Instagram is where the crowd lives. The challenge is moving people from “interested” to “booked” without answering the same DM 200 times.
One link in your bio, for every event
Changing your bio link for each event loses the people who see an older post. A single page that always lists everything you have coming up works better.
On Yano your organiser page (yano.club/o/your-name) shows every upcoming event. Put it in your bio once.
Stories that answer the first three questions
- What is it and who is it for (one line).
- When and roughly where.
- Price, and how to book — “link in bio” or a link sticker.
A saved reply for “how do I book?”
Instagram lets you save quick replies. Save one with your booking link and a line about what happens after payment. It turns a 10-message conversation into one tap.
Make the booking page match the post
If someone taps through from a poster and lands on a page that looks different, they hesitate. Use the same poster and the same words on your booking page.
Keep the people who came
Instagram shows your next post to only some of your followers. People who booked once are your warmest audience. On the Yano app (Android), guests can follow you and hear when you post a new date.
Try it for your next gathering
Free to start. Guests pay you directly; Yano never holds your ticket money. Free events cost nothing.
Questions people ask
Can I sell tickets directly inside Instagram?
Instagram doesn’t sell tickets for small events. The usual way is a booking link in your bio, stories and DMs.
Does it work inside Instagram’s browser?
Yes. Guests can book and pay inside Instagram’s in-app browser and get their pass by email.
Can I see who booked from which post?
Use a promo code per campaign or influencer — each code gets its own link and you can see how often it was used.
