For hosts of weekend getaways, trips with strangers, treks and backpacking groups

Fill the trip with the right people, and collect the balance at boarding

Travellers pick their pickup point, pay you an advance directly, and pay the rest when they board. Ask your questions, approve who joins, keep the group balanced if you want, and only confirm the trip once enough people sign up.

Free to start. Free events cost ₹0.

“Half the group pays the advance on WhatsApp, the other half says they’ll pay at the bus. At 5 am I’m checking a spreadsheet with 30 people waiting.”
— A Pune weekend-trip host

How Yano handles it

Pickup points

Add your stops. Each traveller picks one while booking, it is printed on their pass, and your guest list can be filtered by stop.

On the day: At each stop, filter by that stop and “not arrived” to see who is still to board.

Advance now, balance at boarding

Take an advance online. The pass shows what is still to pay, and your scanner marks the balance as collected.

Questions and approval

Ask for an Instagram handle, age or anything else, and approve each traveller before they pay.

Only go when enough people join

Set a minimum group size. People reserve for ₹0; once the goal is reached, each gets a link to pay you.

What your guests get

  • Their pickup point on the pass
  • What is left to pay at boarding, in plain words
  • Your number to call if they are running late

Set it up

  1. Create the trip. Add the days, your pickup stops, the advance and the balance due at boarding.
  2. Choose who joins. Turn on approval and questions if you want to review travellers first.
  3. Board the bus. Scan passes at each stop and mark balances as paid.

Questions organisers ask

Can travellers pay the rest in cash at the bus?

Yes. The pass shows the balance due, and your scanner marks it collected when they pay you.

What if not enough people sign up?

Turn on a minimum group size. People reserve for ₹0, so if the goal isn’t reached, nobody has paid anything.

Can I review who joins a trip with strangers?

Yes. With approval on, you see each request and their answers, and only approved travellers can pay.

Who handles refunds?

You do. Travellers pay you directly, so refunds come from you. Yano never holds the money.
