Townscript or Yano?

The short answer

Both let you sell passes online in India. The big difference is the money: on Townscript, guests pay through Townscript’s checkout and Townscript pays you; on Yano, guests pay you directly (your UPI or your own Razorpay/Cashfree) and Yano charges a small prepaid credit per paid pass instead of a share of the ticket.

When Townscript is the better choice

You want one company to collect every payment and pay you, with no UPI or gateway of your own.
You already run your events on Townscript and they work for you.

When Yano fits better

You want guests to pay your own UPI, with nothing taken from the ticket.
You choose who comes: approve guests by their answers or Instagram before they pay.
Trips, mixers and parties: pickup points, an advance online with the balance at the entry, a men–women balance limit.
Free meetups and run clubs: free passes cost nothing.

What is the difference between Townscript and Yano?

On Townscript, guests pay through Townscript and Townscript pays the organiser. On Yano, guests pay the organiser directly — to their UPI ID or their own Razorpay/Cashfree account — and Yano never holds ticket money.

How much does Townscript charge?

Townscript lists its current rates on townscript.com/pricing. Check there, including who pays the fees (you or the guest) and the payment-gateway charges.

How much does Yano cost?

Free events cost nothing. Each paid pass uses one prepaid credit (₹6–₹10 depending on the pack), and new organisers get 50 free credits. Yano takes no commission and no monthly fee. If you use your own Razorpay or Cashfree, your gateway charges its own fee.

When does the money reach me on Yano?

With your own UPI, guests pay straight into your UPI account. With your own Razorpay or Cashfree, your gateway pays you on its usual schedule. Yano never holds ticket money.
